I am about to start on my first ship diorama, HMS Scorpion - one of the destroyers that fired torpedoes at Scharnhorst and slowed her down enough for HMS Duke of York to catch her. My wife's grandfather served on HMS Scorpion at the battle of North Cape, on many artic convoy escorts and when she provided naval gunfire support on and after D-Day.

good lord man this is AMAZING! I just got my first VIIC and i only have brushes so, thanks for this.

My thinking is simple. First, paint the materials as they are straight out of a factory. Metal. What kind of metal.. It was better to do this method on a hull with hard edges and rivets like Masterpiece Models 31" Disney Nautilus. I'd hit those hard edges with the side of a small brush using the amazing Testors Gold enamel. When whatever treatment went over the surface, (but always water based) I could always find those edges by simply wiping at them.

Why do you remove details on the deck please ?

If I put half as much effort in my life as he puts into these dioramas, I'd probably be a millionaire by now.

The fact that you made it so detailed that you created in-scale figures for this diorama is incredible. Shows how much of a game-changer 3D printers can be for hobbyists working in very small scale.
